Helpful Details Before You Order

Design Tips

  1. Prepare artwork at 300 DPI at the final print size.
  2. Use CMYK color mode when possible. Screen color can differ slightly from printed color.
  3. Keep small text, fine lines, borders and narrow cut areas thick enough to print and apply cleanly.
  4. Review spelling, scale, color, border and cut shape carefully on the digital proof.

Manufacturer guidance comes before decoration.

Application planning

Manufacturer guidance comes before decoration.

Helmet materials and coatings vary, and some adhesives or cleaners may be unsuitable. Use only approved decorative areas and confirm compatibility before applying a finished sample.

Not sure about the construction? Use Sticker Guide

Outdoor & gear

Match the product to the real job.

Plan decorative helmet stickers only where the equipment manufacturer permits them and without covering vents, labels or safety-critical areas.

Before productionIf any condition is unknown, sample-test the finished sticker on the real surface.

Complete sticker construction

Five layers. One complete sticker system.

A sticker works as one construction. Review each layer’s job, then confirm the exact material codes and test the finished build on the real surface.

Five separated sticker material layers for outdoor & gear
Layers are separated for clarity and are not shown to scale. In production they work as one finished construction.
01
FacestockThin conformable exterior-oriented film candidate, subject to helmet-manufacturer material guidance.
Why this choice

The face must follow compound curves without edge tension, but decorative materials must not compromise the helmet shell or required markings.

02
AdhesiveAcrylic adhesive candidate selected only after helmet substrate compatibility review.
Why this choice

Helmet plastics, paints and coatings vary, so adhesion and chemical compatibility cannot be inferred from the product name alone.

03
InkExposure-appropriate CMYK ink system with defined cure and color requirements.
Why this choice

Sunlight, moisture and temperature can shift color or weaken print, so the actual ink and cure must support the declared exposure.

04
ProtectionUV-, water- and abrasion-oriented overlaminate candidate.
Why this choice

A laminate shields the printed layer from light, cleaning and repeated handling, but does not make every construction waterproof or dishwasher-safe.

05
Liner & applicationStable release liner suited to die cutting and controlled application on curved gear.
Why this choice

Predictable release helps placement without stretching the sticker, trapping contamination or creating early edge stress.

Engineering boundary: these are use-case-specific starting directions, not finished supplier specifications or unconditional performance claims. Confirm the exact facestock, adhesive, ink, protection and liner codes, then validate the finished construction on the real surface when the application is unfamiliar or demanding.

Common uses for Helm-Aufkleber

See where this product fits—and where to test first.

Use these examples as practical starting points. The exact surface, shape, exposure and service period still determine whether a finished sample should be tested.

Permitted shell zones

Permitted shell zones

Follow manufacturer guidance and preserve vents, labels, seams and safety-critical areas.

Team identifiers

Team identifiers

Use only where the shell material and coating are known to permit adhesive decoration.

Event decoration

Event decoration

Treat short-term event use as a compatibility question, not automatic safe removal.

Matching hard cases

Matching hard cases

Place matching artwork on compatible rigid cases when direct helmet application is not approved.

Why Inkelligent

A clearer path from artwork to application.

Custom stickers are easier to order when the artwork, material direction and production approval are handled as one connected process.

Proof before production

Review the artwork, scale, cut shape and visible details on a digital proof before the order moves into production.

Practical guidance

Use the surface, shape, exposure and service period to identify a sensible starting construction instead of relying on one material name.

Clear testing boundaries

When a surface or condition is unfamiliar, we identify what still needs confirmation rather than presenting an unconditional performance promise.

From artwork to production

A clear four-step order path.

  1. 01

    Choose

Select size, finish and quantity for the real application.

  2. 02

Before you approve

Useful checks, without the guesswork.

Use these answers to identify what should be confirmed in the proof or a physical sample.

Will this stick to every surface?

No adhesive is universal. Cleanliness, coating, texture, surface energy, curvature and dwell time can change the result. Test the exact surface when any of these are unknown.

What does gloss versus matte change?

Finish changes appearance, glare and surface feel. It may also influence scuff visibility and handling, so choose in the context of the artwork, lighting and use conditions.

Does “outdoor” mean every surface and weather condition?

No. Outdoor use adds light, moisture, temperature and handling variables, while the substrate still controls adhesion. Record the actual surface and exposure, then validate the finished sample.

When should I request extra guidance?

Ask before production when the surface is unknown, textured, coated, tightly curved, exposed to chemicals, safety-critical or expected to remove cleanly after a long dwell.

Need a different starting point?

Match the use conditions first—or compare every product.

Good adhesive and the colors stayed bright after a few rainy commutes.

Used one on my snowboard helmet and another on my old bike helmet. Both stuck better than expected, especially on a slightly textured surface. Happy with them.

L
Lauren Briggs

I was a little worried they'd look cheap, but they actually have a really nice finish. I put one on my motorcycle helmet two months ago and it's still holding up through sun, wind, and being tossed in my saddlebag.

N
Nicole Hansen

Used these on my snowboard helmet for a weekend trip and got a bunch of comments on them. They added personality without looking cheap. Removal test on one extra sticker was decent too, so I'm ordering more.

N
Nicole Dawson

I was mostly hoping these wouldn’t look homemade, and thankfully they don’t. The print is crisp, the material has a durable feel, and it handled the curve of my full-face helmet better than expected. I cleaned the surface first, took my time lining it up, and had no bubbles. A month in, after highway riding and being left in the sun more than once, it still looks freshly applied.

T
Tyler Boone

Nice detail and no bubbling when applied.

R
Ross Delaney

Makes my helmet stand out in the best way.

L
Lauren Whitaker

I wanted something simple to make my plain matte black motorcycle helmet look less generic, and these did the job. They stick cleanly around slight curves, which was my biggest concern. I've ridden in cold mornings and one unexpected storm and they still look brand new. Packaging was neat too, no bent edges.

J
Justin Reeves

Fast shipping, vibrant print, no complaints.

I ordered this as part of a birthday gift for my brother, who is obsessed with anything custom for his gear. The sticker arrived well packed and the finish looked clean, not blurry or pixelated. We put it on his full-face helmet in about two minutes. A week later he texted me a picture from a trail ride and it still looked perfect after dust, sun, and wiping it down.

D
Derek Collins

Looks awesome on my matte black helmet.

M
Megan Foster

Good adhesive and the colors are bright. I ride in light rain pretty often and it still hasn’t peeled at the edges.

K
Kelsey Moran

The weather resistance seems legit. Mine has seen sun, drizzle, and being shoved into a gym bag and the edges are still flat.

E
Evan Whitaker

I ordered a set for my bike helmet because I was tired of mixing it up with everyone else’s at the trailhead. These were easy to apply and didn’t wrinkle when I repositioned one of them. After a few muddy rides and a rinse-off, the colors still look sharp.

N
Natalie Sutton

Got one as a small add-on gift for my boyfriend's motocross gear and he immediately put it on his helmet. The print came out crisp and the colors were true to the listing. Packaging was simple but kept everything flat, so it arrived in perfect shape.

J
Jason Holbrook

Shipped fast. Sticker feels thick and durable, not flimsy at all.

E
Eric Sullivan

Honestly better than the local shop options. The finish is crisp and they don't feel like they'll crack after one season.

S
Sean Wallace

Very cool decals.

M
Megan Porter

Looks awesome on my matte black helmet.

L
Lindsey Harper

Bought this for my son’s skate helmet and he was ridiculously excited about it. The decal feels thicker than the cheap ones we’ve tried before, and it actually stayed put instead of lifting at the edges after a week. Good little upgrade if you want something more personal without replacing the whole helmet.

R
Rachel Monroe

Bought these to make my son’s bike helmet a little easier to spot at the skate park. They went on smoothly and have held up to being tossed in the car and dropped around. Nice little upgrade without replacing the whole helmet.

B
Bradley Turner

Solid quality. Made my old helmet look way better for not much money.

D
Derek Nolan

Looks awesome on my matte black helmet.

L
Lauren Hayes

I use my helmet almost daily for commuting, so I wanted something that could survive weather and constant handling. So far this has done the job. Application was straightforward if you take your time and clean the helmet first. The color hasn’t faded, and the edges are still flat after a couple weeks outside on my bike rack.

S
Sean Callahan

Solid helmet decal. Bright color and good adhesion.

D
Derek Vaughn

Exactly what I needed. Clean print, easy to apply.

H
Holly Bennett

Not bad at all. The decal feels thicker than the flimsy ones I’ve bought elsewhere, and it didn’t start lifting after the first ride. Wish I had ordered a second one.

H
Hannah Welch

Bought these for my son's bike helmet so it'd be easier to spot at the skate park. They went on smoothly and haven't peeled at the edges.

T
Tyler Jennings

Exactly what I wanted.

E
Emily Patterson

I use my bike helmet every day commuting to work, and I was tired of not being able to tell mine apart from the others in the office rack. These solved that immediately. Application took maybe five minutes after I cleaned the surface. No weird smell, no tearing, and the print is clean up close. It's a small thing, but it made the helmet feel a lot more personal.

T
Tyler Jennings

Good value overall. One sticker was slightly smaller than I pictured, but the quality and stickiness were excellent, so I'm still happy with the purchase.

K
Kelsey Moran

I use my bike for daily city commuting, so I wanted something that added personality but could handle weather. This sticker has been through heat, drizzle, and a few bumps against my lock without fading. It also didn't leave weird wrinkles when I applied it, which I appreciated because I'm not exactly patient with decals.

C
Colin Parker

I was a little worried the sticker would look cheap once it curved around the shell, but it actually laid down really nicely. No bubbling, no weird wrinkles, and the print stayed crisp. Gives my motorcycle helmet some personality without being over the top.

J
Jenna Wallace

Pleasantly surprised by the quality here. The sticker has a durable feel and doesn’t look like it will crack when the helmet flexes slightly from regular use. I put mine on a cycling helmet and it immediately made it easier to identify in a group ride. Small purchase, but it really changed the look.
