Common cut shapes
These examples show common ways artwork can be prepared for a 50.8 mm label. The final cut line follows the submitted artwork.
A balanced choice for seals, lids, jars, and centred logo artwork.
Clean & centred
Strong edges suit structured layouts, QR-style graphics, and compact packaging.
Sharp & structured
Creates room for longer names and logos while keeping the corners visually softer.
More room for text
Follows the outer silhouette of suitable artwork for a distinctive branded finish.

Label materials
Every self-adhesive roll label has three layers: facestock, adhesive and a release liner. Compare our three material constructions below, then confirm the construction available for your chosen product before ordering.
Relative costs compare these constructions; your final quote depends on size, quantity and print requirements.

with permanent hot-melt adhesive
A coated white paper facestock with permanent hot-melt adhesive, intended for labels that stay in place on dry packaging.
Check the adhesive specification for cool-storage use and minimum application temperature. Confirm pen and printer compatibility before overprinting. Do not use a standard laser printer unless this exact construction is approved for its heat.
with removable high-tack adhesive
A white PP film with a paper-like matt finish and a removable water-based acrylic adhesive, designed for firm initial adhesion. The film resists moisture and tearing.
Adhesion and removal can change with time, temperature and surface. Test handwriting with the intended pen. For thermal-transfer overprinting, confirm a suitable resin ribbon with the supplier; standard laser printers require a specifically approved film.
with removable adhesive
A clear, glossy BOPP film with a removable acrylic adhesive. Unprinted areas let the packaging show through for a transparent finish on suitable rigid surfaces.
Confirm the exact grade’s minimum application and service temperatures before use. AU472 has a glassine liner. A PET liner is an alternative construction, and the liner is removed before application. Confirm white ink or an underbase for the intended artwork and packaging colour. AU472 supplier specification.
Will the label need to come off later?
At a glance: paper for economical, permanent dry-packaging labels; white PP for tough temporary labels; clear BOPP for transparent promotional labels.
Test before a full run. Apply samples to your actual packaging and check adhesion and removal after 24 hours, after 7 days and at the highest temperature expected during use, within the material specification. Removable does not mean reusable. Water resistance of the film does not establish waterproof performance of the complete printed label. Confirm the adhesive specification, liner and temperature limits before ordering.
Each selected quantity is for one design. Place a separate order for each additional artwork file.
Removable describes how the adhesive releases from a suitable surface. It does not mean the label can be reused or repeatedly repositioned. Test removal after your intended application time.
Coated paper should be kept dry. PP and BOPP film facestocks resist moisture, but the finished label also depends on the ink, adhesive, surface and exposure. Confirm suitability and test a sample before use around water.
Unprinted areas show the container beneath. Printed colours can change on dark or coloured packaging. Confirm any white ink or white underbase requirements before production.
No. Core size is the inner diameter of the cardboard tube. Finished label size is confirmed separately in the digital proof. Check all roll dimensions when using an applicator.
Apply a sample to the actual clean, dry surface. Check adhesion and removal after 24 hours, 7 days and your expected use period, at the temperatures the label will encounter.
Start with the packaging surface, exposure to moisture and whether the label must be removed later. Confirm which construction is available for your chosen product and test a sample before ordering.
Use a suitable vector file or the highest-resolution artwork you have. Keep text and fine lines readable at the final label size. Review the cut line, spelling and scale in your digital proof.
We provide a digital proof before production. Check the design, dimensions, cut line and print appearance, and approve the proof before printing starts.
Production begins after proof approval. Transit time depends on the destination and service. Check the shipping policy for current delivery information before ordering.
