Helpful Details for Your Roll Label Order

Design & Roll Setup Tips

  1. Prepare artwork at 300 DPI at the final 63.5 mm (2.5 in) print size.
  2. Use CMYK color mode when possible. Screen color can differ slightly from printed color.
  3. Keep small text, fine lines, borders and narrow cut areas thick enough to print and dispense cleanly.
  4. All core sizes use a sturdy kraft paper tube. Roll core diameter refers to the tube’s inner diameter, not the label shape or finished label size.
  5. Check spelling, scale, cut shape, label orientation and the Top / Bottom / Right / Left unwind direction before submitting your artwork.

Roll setup guide

Set Up Your Roll for the Way You Work

Choose the kraft paper core inside the roll and the edge that should dispense first. These settings do not change your finished label size.

Core size

Choose Your Core Size

All sizes use a sturdy kraft paper tube. The measurement is the inner diameter—not the label dimensions.
Illustrative label rolls with one-inch, two-inch, and three-inch inner core diameter options
25.4 mm (1 in) Core
Compact for hand application and limited storage.
50.8 mm (2 in) Core
A balanced option for everyday handling.

Unwind direction

Choose the Leading Edge

Select which edge of the printed label comes off the roll first.

  • TopTop edge dispenses first
  • BottomBottom edge dispenses first
  • RightRight edge dispenses first
  • LeftLeft edge dispenses first

For hand application, unwind direction is usually a preference. For a dispenser or labelling machine, match the equipment feed direction.

Frequently asked questions

Can I split the quantity between different designs?

Each selected quantity is for one design. Place a separate order for each additional artwork file.

Are removable labels reusable?

Removable describes how the adhesive releases from a suitable surface. It does not mean the label can be reused or repeatedly repositioned. Test removal after your intended application time.

Are these labels waterproof?

Coated paper should be kept dry. PP and BOPP film facestocks resist moisture, but the finished label also depends on the ink, adhesive, surface and exposure. Confirm suitability and test a sample before use around water.

How do clear labels look on dark packaging?

Unprinted areas show the container beneath. Printed colours can change on dark or coloured packaging. Confirm any white ink or white underbase requirements before production.

Does the core size change my label size?

No. Core size is the inner diameter of the cardboard tube. Finished label size is confirmed separately in the digital proof. Check all roll dimensions when using an applicator.

Show more questionsShow fewer questions
How should I test adhesion and removal?

Apply a sample to the actual clean, dry surface. Check adhesion and removal after 24 hours, 7 days and your expected use period, at the temperatures the label will encounter.

How do I choose between paper and film labels?

Start with the packaging surface, exposure to moisture and whether the label must be removed later. Confirm which construction is available for your chosen product and test a sample before ordering.

Which artwork file should I upload?

Use a suitable vector file or the highest-resolution artwork you have. Keep text and fine lines readable at the final label size. Review the cut line, spelling and scale in your digital proof.

Will I see a proof before printing?

We provide a digital proof before production. Check the design, dimensions, cut line and print appearance, and approve the proof before printing starts.

When do production and shipping begin?

Production begins after proof approval. Transit time depends on the destination and service. Check the shipping policy for current delivery information before ordering.

L
Lucia Gray
Very good, with a minor color note

The reds print a touch warmer than they look on our laptop. The overall quality is still strong, and the gloss makes the design feel lively.

L
Luca Gray
Clean seal for tissue paper

The adhesive holds our folded tissue closed without needing an extra piece of tape.

S
Stella Hayes
Good labels, artwork upload could be smoother

The finished roll is exactly what we needed. During ordering, I would prefer to see the uploaded filename and a larger thumbnail before adding to cart.

R
Ryan Clark
Clean look on white pouches

The gloss adds enough contrast to keep simple black artwork from feeling flat.

D
Diego West
Helpful for a product refresh

Changing to a glossy roll label gave our existing containers a noticeably more premium presentation. We kept the same bottles and artwork, but the brighter surface made the colors feel fresher and helped the logo stand out. It was a practical way to update the line without redesigning every part of the package.

C
Clara Bryant
Nice outcome, terminology needs help text

The label quality is very good. For a first-time buyer, short definitions under core and unwind options would reduce hesitation.

A
Aiden Perez
Works well on smooth plastic

The label sits flat on our rigid plastic lids and the colors stay vibrant.

P
Paula Simmons
Very good finish, slightly different on screen

The printed blue is a little deeper than it appeared on my monitor, but the result still looks professional and consistent.

T
Thomas Martinez
Sharp QR code

The QR code scans easily and still leaves enough space for the brand mark.

G
Greta Stewart
Perfect for thank-you seals

We use these on the outside of orders as a branded thank-you seal, and the 2.5-inch size is easy to notice.

V
Valentina Perez
Good result, proof zoom could be stronger

The artwork printed cleanly and the labels apply well. A sharper zoom tool during proof approval would help me check tiny text.

E
Enzo Ward
Great for event kits

We labeled two thousand welcome boxes quickly and the consistent roll format kept the table organized.

A
Adrian Butler
Very usable, one minor wish

The label quality is strong. I only wish the product page showed a life-size 2.5-inch reference beside a common object.

I
Ingrid Rogers
Enough space for the important details

At 2.5 inches, we can show the product name, scent, weight, and logo without shrinking everything.

L
Lena Lewis
A professional upgrade

My packaging looks much more finished with a glossy label instead of a paper sticker.

D
Dylan Watson
Good labels with a small learning curve

The product turned out nicely, but I had to look up what unwind direction meant before ordering. A diagram beside the selector would help.

V
Victor Ramirez
Good quality, packaging could be clearer

The labels arrived organized and protected. I would still like a more obvious label on the box showing core size and unwind direction before setup.

D
Diego Hughes
Good choice for launch inventory

Two thousand pieces is enough for our first production run without making the packing team handle multiple small batches.

A
Andres Morris
Clean barcode printing

The barcode lines are distinct and the surrounding text remains legible.

C
Cameron Edwards
Clear on dark artwork

White lettering stays crisp against our dark green background.

V
Victor Stewart
Smooth application

I can place these on glass jars without bubbles when I work from one edge to the other.

L
Lena Parker
Easy to apply

These peel cleanly from the roll and go on straight with very little fuss.

Z
Zoe Ross
The roll format saves time

Using a roll is much faster at our packing table than sorting through loose sticker sheets.

K
Klara Russell
Great for honey jars

The round format fits the lid and the warm artwork looks bright under the glossy surface.

E
Elina Freeman
Neat edges

The cut looks clean and the circular shape stays centered around the artwork.

R
Ryan Jordan
Strong result, but verify measurements

The 2.5-inch size worked for our main jar. It was too wide for a smaller sample container, so a printable size guide would be useful.

J
Jade Cole
Solid product, more setup guidance would help

The finished labels are attractive and easy to handle. A short video for 1-inch, 2-inch, and 3-inch core options would make the ordering step more confident.

S
Sophie Jordan
Polished coffee bag seals

The round gloss label adds a clean focal point to matte coffee bags.

S
Simon Freeman
Smooth on metal tins

The labels sit flat and make the tins look ready for a retail shelf.

C
Caleb Murray
Bright color and smooth shine

The finish catches the light without making the artwork hard to see.

S
Sofia Martinez
A tidy way to close bakery bags

The labels hold the folded top in place and give us room for the flavor name.

J
Julia King
Easy to peel one-handed

The roll backing bends cleanly, so I can peel a label while holding the container.

O
Owen Bryant
Consistent gloss across the roll

The surface looks even from one label to the next, which keeps the finished products uniform. We compare labels under our packing lights, and the color, shine, and placement remain visually consistent across different cartons. That makes quality checks quicker before the products move to the shipping table.
